The Solar Camcorder

This is the compact camcorder that augments its rechargeable battery with solar power. Doubling as a sunshade, the flip-up solar collection panel extends battery life 12 minutes for every hour it's exposed to sunlight, allowing recording to continue without proximity to electric power. The camcorder's 12 MP image sensor with 8X digital zoom captures HD video in 720 x 480 pixel resolution at 30 fps, storing content as AVI files on an SD/SDHC memory card up to 32 GB (not included). It also takes still JPG images at up to 4000 x 3000 resolution. Footage can be viewed on the camera's 3" color LCD screen, on a TV with the included video cable, or downloaded to a computer via the included USB cable. Its rechargeable Li-ion battery provides up to 5 hours of operation from a 3-hour charge with the included AC charger.
