The Play By Play Announcing Scoreboard

This is the portable scoreboard that lets a spectator contribute play-by-play and color commentary to any backyard football scrimmage or softball league game. Named Top Gadget at the 2010 New York Toy Fair, the device amplifies the announcer's patter (using the included microphone), along with built-in sound effects, through two 10-watt speakers to create real game-day atmosphere. The unit displays the score for home and away teams on easy-to-see, 3"-high numbers, plus a countdown timer (with a buzzer to spur game-saving, last-second shots) and a period indicator. Eight different crowd effects, from taunts to cheers, play randomly or can be aptly timed to accompany dunks or strikeouts. The scoreboard also plays music from a connected MP3 player or USB drive, ideal for player introductions, inciting fans, or between-period entertainment. Simple controls on the unit and the included remote let scorekeepers add or remove points, adjust time, and control all sounds.
