Product Story

This is the modern version of the classic M-1965 Field Jacket from the Vietnam War. First introduced to the U.S. Army in 1965, the M65 became an iconic fixture of the Vietnam era and developed a legacy that resulted in its appearance in over two dozen films, including those worn by Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver and Al Pacino in Serpico. Made by Cockpit USA, the current supplier of leather jackets to the Air Force, this version is updated for modern wear with lambskin that replaces the original olive green canvas, providing a soft, supple hand. It retains the twin hip and chest flap pockets, epaulets, front snap, zipper, and long waist of the original. Includes buttoned cuffs, a drawstring waist, and two internal pockets. Features a bi-swing gusset at the back like the original for complete freedom of arm movement. The nylon/acetate lining is made with a subtle camouflage pattern. Men’s sizes M (42), L (44), XL (46), or XXL (48). (6 lbs.)
