The iPhone Owner's Robotic Avatar

This is the robotic avatar that reflects an iPhone owner’s facial features and personality traits. An iPhone becomes the robot’s “face” after downloading an app and placing the iPhone in the robot’s head. The app allows you to choose from six different themes, each one customizable with different eyebrows, eyes, masks, glasses, noses, mouths, and beards, creating an avatar that responds to voice and motion. Using advanced voice command recognition and object detection software, the robot's built-in sensors detect walls and other objects in its environment. You can customize its responses in your own voice, such as “stop that!” when being bumped into a wall repeatedly or “stop right there, bub!” when RoboMe detects someone walking past it. With moving eyebrows and blinking eyes that imply human intelligence, tapping it on the face makes your avatar say “ouch” and squint its eyes, while shaking its hand gets it to say “hello”. The avatar rolls forward, backward, and turns 360° on two 4" wheels, commanded from the 15'-range infrared remote. Requires four C batteries and three AAA batteries.
