This is the bamboo rug made from 100% Anji Mountain bamboo (considered the strongest in the world) and fitted with a non-slip cushioned pad to ensure confident footing. Every winter bamboo plants in China's Anji region are exposed to a two month freeze that reduces the flow of sap, resulting in a slower rate of growth that promotes a dense, durable bamboo with a tensile strength greater than steel. The sustainably harvested, mature bamboo is kiln-dried and carbonized to remove excess moisture that can lead to cracks and splinters, ensuring years of reliable use. The rugs are hand-sanded, ensuring the smoothest finish possible, and the polypropylene borders are micro-stitched and bound with mitered corners for optimal strength.
