This is the device that automatically churns authentic Italian gelato. Unlike ice cream makers that churn at higher speeds, the gelato maker's paddle rotates at a much slower pace to produce the creamier, more intensely flavored frozen treat that is favored in Italy. Designed in Italy, the gelato maker has a self-refrigerating compressor that automatically chills the mixing bowl to the ideal temperature and allows you to make consecutive 1 1/2-pint batches without having to prime the mixing bowl in a freezer. The hermetically sealed lid keeps ingredients at the optimal temperature and prevents excess air from being whipped into the mixture, producing thick, smooth gelato. The patented mixing paddle thoroughly incorporates fruit, chocolate, and other flavorings and the stainless steel mixing bowl removes for easy serving.
