This is the authentic Hackney carriage that plied the streets of London over a quarter of a century ago. Still an iconic fixture along the Strand today, where the nation's first taxi cab stand was established in 1636, this version is a fully restored and overhauled Fairway from the 1980s. Designed with a high degree of English sensibility, it provides the roominess and appointments of a limousine in a smaller size, seating a driver and up to six passengers comfortably with a three-seat rear bench and two rear-facing fold-down seats. It is updated for modern convenience with a 2.7-liter Nissan diesel engine that allows it to drive at U.S. speed limits, three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes - all combining to deliver dutiful, reliable performance.
