The Bladeless Personal Fan

This is the bladeless table fan that provides safer, more soothing personal cooling than typical bladed fans. An integrated turbine draws air into the base, increases its velocity, and expels it through a thin slot along the fan's circumference, providing a cooling breeze without spinning blades. Unlike typical fan blades that "chop" air into uneven, intermittent breezes, this superior design produces a smooth, uninterrupted stream of refreshing air. Tests performed by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute showed the fan produced 500 feet-per-minute breezes from 2' away--ideal power for generating a refreshing air stream without disrupting paperwork--yet it was no louder than a traditional bladed fan. The fan's 5 1/2"-diameter base sets up unobtrusively on a desktop or table, it oscillates 90º, and a dial allows smooth, continuous adjustment of air velocity. Plugs into AC. 20" H x 5 1/2" Diam.
