The 100% organically grown bamboo is highly renewable, with a rapid growth cycle of three to five years (most hardwoods have a 15-20 year growth cycle), and biodegrades in four to six months after disposal. One of the most beautiful and versatile natural resources, bamboo is also one of the most durable--its tensile strength is greater than steel's--so you won't have to worry about forks snapping in half or plates sagging from heavy helpings.
