The Germ Eliminating Smartphone Sanitizer

This device uses safe ultraviolet light--the same technology trusted to sanitize hospital instruments--to eliminate up to 99.9% of the germs that accumulate on a smartphone. Two UV bulbs inside the case emit germicidal light to kill bacteria and viruses like H1N1, Streptococcus, E. coli, and Salmonella in five minutes. The UV light reaches into keypad crevices and other hidden areas that sustain germ vitality. The case holds a smartphone or iPod and automatically begins to sanitize the outward surfaces once the lid is closed and turns off after the five-minute cycle. About the size of hand soap dispenser, the device sets up unobtrusively on a nightstand or desk. Lights are rated for 8,000 hours. Requires three AA batteries.
