This is the wool cap hand woven on the grounds of historic Muckross House in Killarney, Ireland. Completed in 1843, the 65-room mansion and its estate became Ireland’s first national park in 1932. Made from 100% shetland wool, expert craftsmen use traditional spinning and weaving methods and equipment, honoring the Emerald Island’s rich heritage of making garments of unsurpassed quality. The variegated colors of each one-of-a-kind, hand-woven piece exquisitely evokes the dramatic beauty of Muckross Gardens and the rugged Killarney countryside.
