Product Story

This is the limited edition and genuine 1878 Morgan silver dollar set within a large, 2-oz. 99.9% pure silver ingot. Designed by English engraver George T. Morgan, the coin was minted from 1878-1904 and briefly in 1921 and features the goddess Liberty, modeled by Philadelphia school teacher Anna Willis Wilkins, whose profile Morgan described as “The most perfect I have seen in England or America”. The front of the ingot depicts a sculptured image of the old U.S. Mint in Philadelphia and the names of the five U.S. mint locations where the Morgan silver dollar was struck. Minted in Carson City--the most sought after and rarest Morgan silver dollar--the coin's reverse displays the famed "CC" mint mark. The reverse of the ingot displays a sculptured image of George T. Morgan at work and an individual serial number along its side. It's held in a clear acrylic holder and comes in a wood and leather case. Includes certificate of authenticity. Limited edition; only 250 minted (10 remain). Case 6 3/4" L x 5 3/4" W x 2" H.
