Product Story

Ever since its creation in Italy in 1946, this motorized scooter, with its distinctive look and easy maneuverability, has been the mode of transportation of choice among those for whom independence, self-expression and carefree brio are fundamental parts of life. From Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn's nighttime Vespa tour of Rome in Roman Holiday and Marcello Mastroianni and the paparazzi darting around the city streets by Vespa in La Dolce Vita, to more recent sightings in Austin Powers and The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Vespa has long been a symbol of youthful freedom and European joie-de-vivre. Retaining the classic curves for which the Vespa is famous, these new models have been updated with the latest technological refinements such as front disc brakes and continuous variable transmission, making for a powerful fusion of irresistible personality and high-quality engineering. Today's Vespa has lockable, below-seat storage, big enough for even the largest helmet, roomy glove box, easy-to-read instruments and anti-theft locking system (ET4 only). Technical features include front and rear hydraulic suspension, front and rear disc and drum brakes and electronic ignition. The Vespa is well known for its pressed steel monocoque frame, ample floorboard and enclosed engine. 31" Seat Height x 28" W x 70" L. 50cc. Vespa ET-2.2-stroke, single cylinder engine. Max. speed 40mph. (216 lbs.)
