Product Story

This is the original Perfecto 118, the leather jacket made famous by Marlon Brando in the classic 1953 film The Wild One. Brando’s portrayal of the dark, brooding leader of an outlaw biker gang came to symbolize youthful rebellion, and the leather jacket he wore has endured as a rugged statement of iconoclastic attitude. Made by Schott’s of New York City, the creator of the leather motorcycle jacket, the 26" long double style jacket is made with heavy drum-dyed cowhide leather that—like some hoodlums—softens with age, and it is straight cut for a more generous fit. Vented underarm gussets and a bi-swing back allow ease of movement. A belt with a heavy nickel-plated buckle keeps the jacket snug around your waist. The cotton-twill lined sleeves have heavy-duty metal zippers, as do the hand pockets and slash breast pocket, while snaps secure the collars, lapels, epaulets, and exterior change pocket. The body has an insulated quilted nylon lining, with an interior breast pocket and a map pocket, not to imply that one's life lacks direction. Made in the U.S. Men’s sizes 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50.
