Product Story
This is the sturdiest, most durable and well-made hammock available. It is handcrafted in the tradition of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, the ancestral home of Captain Joshua Ward who designed the original in the late 1880s. Unlike ordinary knotted hammocks, it is handwoven using the highest grade soft cotton twill rope. It contains twice as much rope as most comparable models (the two-person hammock uses a full 1,100 feet). Handcrafted seasoned oak staves for maximum stability. Heavy-duty zinc-plated steel hooks and chains, and hanging instructions are provided. Made in the U.S.Two-Person Hammock. Stand sold separately. 5' W x 7' L, overall 13 1/2' L. (18 lbs.)
