The Portable Police Scanner Radio

This is the portable radio scanner that picks up digital transmissions from police, fire/EMS, and other emergency responders. Unlike basic scanner radios that only pick up analog transmissions, this unit receives both analogue and digital broadcasts from modern radio systems used by a growing number of city and state dispatch centers. Providing good reception for channels it receives, it enables one to enter channels into memory and stores up to 20 programmable scan lists for picking up local unlisted frequencies. The scanner has six presets for the most active channels and receives NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) alerts and frequencies used by storm spotter networks. Its object oriented user interface makes the scanner easy to use and it features an easy-to-read backlit display for low-light conditions that automatically illuminates to indicate channel activity.
