The Robotic Pugilists

These are the pugnacious remote-controlled robots that execute five distinct maneuvers in an effort to outbox each other at two players’ commands. Available exclusively from Hammacher Schlemmer, each “corner” grips a pair of remote hand triggers that controls a robot. A swing of the left or right controller launches a stunning left jab or right hook while the robot takes a step forward for better positioning. Circular hand motions in either direction commands a robot to execute an evasive clock- or counterclockwise circle while perfectly timed left/right swings launch a furious two-fisted fusillade forward. The first robot to suffer four strikes—midsection lights up red to indicate a hit—loses the match. Includes two robots and four infrared controllers. Requires two 9-volt and six AA batteries.
