This detailing first became popular in 1870 as a way for chambermaids to differentiate quality among the various linens--five rows signaled the highest quality. The soft, lustrous fabric is a 250-thread-count percale, woven of lustrous, long-staple Egyptian cotton in Italy and embroidered in France. This superior-quality fabric withstands frequent laundering and grows softer over time. Made by The White House of London, which has supplied linens to luxury hotels and royal families around the world since 1906. Machine wash. Flat sheets are an extra-long 118" for a snug tuck.
