The Swiss-Made Tritium Field Watch

Available exclusively from Hammacher Schlemmer, this watch is made in Switzerland and uses tritium micro gas lights in the hands, 12 hour markers, and bezel that glow continuously for 25 years, without requiring an external light source to "charge" the indices. Using the same technology first used on U.S. Navy Seal watches in the 1960s for underwater operations, this watch is illuminated by Gaseous Tritium Light Source (GTLS)-micro glass vials filled with phosphorous and illuminated by tritium gas-placed by hand in the dial and bezel, creating a glow 100 times brighter than common luminous watches. The mineral glass crystal face is scratch and shatter resistant, stainless steel case back ensures water resistance up to 330 feet, and bi-directional bezel rotates to align the zero marker with the seconds or minutes hand to monitor elapsed time.
