The Washable Merino Wool Robe

This is the hand-washable robe made from 100% Merino wool, considered one of the softest natural fibers in the world. Lightweight for casual wear, it is woven from Australian wool with an extra-fine 70-micron count into a 1-ply yarn with a 1/4"-high pile, resulting in a luxurious softness more typical of cashmere than wool. The wool is treated such that the robe eschews the expensive care typically required for wool garments, allowing repeated hand-washings without shrinkage, a feature exclusive to Hammacher Schlemmer. The fine, worsted wool wicks moisture away from the body and creates a body warmth barrier against cold bathroom drafts or during quick forays for the morning paper.
