The Wifi Multi Media Robot

This is the WiFi robot that has a video camera, microphone, and built-in motion detector, allowing you to use it as a surveillance drone, sentry, or Internet telephone. It communicates with your wireless home network, allowing you to send it on surveillance missions in your home up to 30' away from your computer. The robot's software (available from manufacturer's website) installs onto a computer running Windows XP or Vista (or Macintosh) and provides a control interface that enables you to move the robot in any direction, and the screen displays what the robot can see with its camera, which provides 320 x 240 resolution at 15 fps. It detects motion when stationary and sends an alarm to the computer control screen, alerting you with sound and an image (via e-mail) when an intruder comes within the robot's patrol perimeter. You can also activate its headlamp from your computer. The robot can play eight sound effects as well as your MP3s when plugged into your PC through its built-in 2-watt speaker. It can also be used as a telephone with a computer equipped with a microphone and speakers. Its battery provides three hours of operation from a three-hour rest on its charging base. It can be assembled into one of three main configurations: robot, lunar vehicle, or scorpion. Ages 8 and up. Robot 12 1/2" H x 8 3/4" W x 8" D. (5 lbs.)
