The first and only one of its kind, this Hi8 handycam is capable of filming under normal daylight conditions or in total darkness. It operates just like a standard video camera for daytime use, but in complete darkness (0 lux), it emits infrared light that records images up to 10 feet away. In playback mode, images appear as monochrome (black and white). In day or night mode, the camera has extended resolution that enables you to record up to 400 lines of horizontal resolution for vibrant and detailed images. A 2 1/2-inch swivel-screen color LCD monitor flips out and rotates 270° for multi-angle viewing and can also be placed on mirror mode so the person being filmed can see themselves while the viewfinder is activated. A secondary viewfinder allows for shooting in bright sunlight. It has 18X optical zoom and 72X digital zoom, Steadyshot picture stabilization, Stamina for up to 12 hours of recording time on one charge, advanced 5-language titler, quick charge capability and hifi stereo sound.
