The RC Southampton Tug Boat

This is the 1:36 scale remote control tugboat modeled after the ones that work the waters of England’s Southampton harbor. Two water-cooled electric motors power separate metal propellers that provide fore/aft motion while twin rudders provide deft port/starboard steering. Controlled from up to 100' away with a two-channel 2.4 Gz radio remote, the tugboat bears faithful details to workboats of its ilk: rubber tire fenders draped over the gunwales with “rope” that secures to an H-bitt in the bow, a hawser attached to a winch, and hydraulic pins in the stern. The authentically detailed wheelhouse is topped by a working searchlight and morse lamp. A tugboat siren wail emanates from a hidden speaker. Its rechargeable battery provides up to 30 minutes of operation from a one-hour charge using the included AC adapter. Minor assembly. Requires six AA batteries. 21 1/2" L x 14" W x 7 1/2" H.
