The Color-Changing Ribbon Lamp
We are always pleased to find a lamp that earns its place on the table even when it’s switched off. This one, a flowing ribbon of brushed nickel rising from a weighted round base, looks very much like a piece of modern sculpture.
Switch it on, and the ribbon comes alive with light. Its energy-efficient LEDs give off approximately 1,000 lumens of clear white light, bright enough for reading or close work on a desk. When the evening calls for something more atmospheric, the included remote shifts the lamp through a range of colors and dims it to the level the moment requires.
At about 12" high and 16" long, it is well proportioned for a desk, side table or nightstand, and the aluminum body with its brushed finish suits a contemporary room as gracefully as a traditional one.
It is a lamp chosen as much for how it looks as for the light it gives, and it does both admirably.
