A paper pumpkin could look lovely on a shelf until someone opens a window. A real one is great until it turns to mush. This pair borrows the angular folds of origami and the familiar shape of a Halloween pumpkin, then renders both in polyresin. They have the look of a small craft project that turned out suspiciously well, with none of the folding or carving required.
Each pumpkin stands 5.9" tall. Its flat, sharply defined surfaces give the round fruit an unexpected geometry, while the orange finish keeps it firmly in Halloween territory. Place the two together on a mantel or entryway table, where their matching shapes make a little display of their own. They’re also small enough to separate: one can greet visitors by the door while the other keeps watch over a bookshelf.
These are decorations for indoor use, ready to come back out when the leaves begin turning next year.
