Family traditions tend to grow dearer the longer they last, and the good ones ask very little of us beyond a spot on the tree each December. Thirty-five years ago, Swarovski created its very first holiday star. For the anniversary, the company has brought that original design back, recolored as a set.
One star is clear crystal. The other two carry Swarovski’s Aurore Boreale and Golden Shadow effects, so the set reads as a matched family rather than three copies. Together they hold 240 facets, and each one hangs from a white grosgrain ribbon with its own engraved tag.
Group them on a single branch, spread them across the tree, or line them up in a window where the morning light can reach every one. They arrive in a Swarovski gift box, which makes this an easy present for the person who keeps the ornament collection in order. Thirty-five years in, the star still knows how to make an entrance.
