It’s an old story. A new dog joins the family, and Mom and/or Dad decide this time, things will be different. “No pets on the couch!” goes the decree. Then the adorable little creatures climbs up on the couch, all smiles and cuddles. There goes the decree, right out the window.

Developed just for Hammacher Schlemmer, these washable covers minimize pet hair and damage without the slippage common to lesser models. Made from plush, machine-washable deep-pile velvet, they protect furniture against fur, scratches, moisture, and other pet messes, so owners need not shoo their pets to the floor or constantly shadow them with a vacuum or washcloth. The undersides have a textured non-skid backing that ensures a cover will stay where it belongs without bunching, sliding, or shifting under scrambling paws.

A pet curling up with you on the sofa is one of life’s great pleasures. Now it will be even more pleasurable because you won’t be worried about the sofa.
