Kneel at the edge of the bed, set the bulbs in, and give them a good watering. That’s most of the work. Months later, Pink Charm daffodils open with creamy white petals around ruffled trumpets in a rosy pink-peach, a color few people expect from a daffodil.
Run a finger along the cup and you can feel the ruffle. These large-cup daffodils bloom early to mid spring in full sun or partial shade, and deer generally leave them alone. Better still, they naturalize, spreading and multiplying so the patch fills in on its own.
Start with 12 bulbs for a cluster by the steps, or take the 24-bulb set with a planting tool and line an entire walkway. Well-drained soil is all they ask, plus that first deep drink. Then step back and let the color surprise everyone.
