The debut of such marvels as a remote-control blimp, a collapsible 17-in-1 golf club, and an electric log splitter induced a mass fever dream from which commerce has yet to awaken.

Sadly, this powerful segment overshadowed the appearance the same night of a now forgotten comedian named Eddie Murphy. Sorry, Eddie.

The famed catalogue comes to Late Night a second time as Marc Baumann of Hammacher Schlemmer displays marvels like The Exercise Bike Lawnmower, The Face-Down Lounger, and The Handheld Copy Machine. As it happened, that night Late Night was rotating the camera 360 degrees throughout the show, but this clip has been corrected to keep the proceedings right-side-up, for the benefit of queasy viewers.
