We are partial to small things that do surprisingly large things, and this miniature racer is a fine example. It fits in the palm of your hand, yet it carries a camera that lets you see the world from the driver’s seat.
A 120-degree camera sits on its roof and streams live 720p video over Wi-Fi to your smartphone, so you can watch the floor rush toward you as you steer under the dining table or along the hallway baseboards. The camera attaches magnetically and lifts off easily when you’d rather simply race.
Handling is more refined than its size suggests. A self-stabilizing gyro and proportional steering keep the car steady, a front shock absorber softens the bumps, and three speed settings let new drivers start gently before opening it up. The racer reaches about 98 feet from the controller and runs roughly 15 minutes per charge.
It is, in short, an invitation to see familiar rooms as a grand prix circuit.
