Kids’ ride-ons tend to fall into two camps: too tame to hold a child’s interest, or too quick for a parent’s comfort. Finding the happy middle takes some searching.
This electric scooter borrows its lines from the classic Vespa, and its manners from a careful engineer. A 12V battery powers dual motors to a smooth top speed of about 2½ mph, quick enough to feel like a genuine ride and slow enough for a grown-up to walk alongside. Forward and reverse controls are simple to learn, and an emergency stop button brings things to a halt right away.
The fun extras are what make it feel grown-up to its rider: LED lights, plus Bluetooth, USB, AUX and SD card connections for playing favorite songs on the go. A charge provides about 30 to 40 minutes of riding, a good stretch for a few laps of the driveway or the cul-de-sac.
It holds one rider up to 77 lbs and is recommended for ages 3 and up. Choose red or blue.
Big-kid style, small-kid pace, and peace of mind for whoever’s watching from the porch.
