A stocking spends most of December hanging empty, and a plain one passes those weeks looking as though it’s simply waiting its turn. The mantel deserves better company than that.
Each of these two classic red stockings carries an embroidered snowflake as its centerpiece, with small bead details that pick up the firelight and white dots scattered across the fabric like a light snowfall. They look finished on the first of December, long before anything goes inside.
A built-in loop on each hangs it from a mantel hook, a door, a window or a stair rail. Spot cleaning is all they ask between seasons, so they stay bright for many Christmases to come.
