A drummer with a full kit generally knows where it lives, for the same reason you know where your refrigerator lives: it’s a real pain to move around. This portable electronic set gives players a way to practice when a conventional kit isn’t available, whether that means a bedroom, dorm, hotel room, office, or any flat surface that can briefly stand in for a rehearsal space.
Its flexible silicone surface lays out the familiar pieces of a drum kit, with dedicated pads for snare, toms, cymbals, and other sounds, plus separate pedals for bass drum and hi-hat functions. Multiple tones, demo songs, accompaniment tracks, and record/playback give players more to work with than simple rudiment practice, while the included adjustable headphones keep the session to themselves.
Powered by USB or batteries, it makes it possible to get some real stick time in places where bringing a traditional kit was never an option. It may not come with a stage, a roadie, or a wall of amplifiers, but it does mean “I couldn’t practice” becomes a slightly harder excuse to make.
